📋 3 Tips for Hurricane Season
Here are 3 simple tips every homeowner and business owner should know before a storm:
✅ 1. Review your insurance coverage.
Keep a copy of your policy handy and understand what is covered. If you’re in a flood zone, remember that flood insurance is a separate policy and is NOT included under a standard homeowners policy. If you don’t currently have flood coverage and feel it may be necessary, speak with your local insurance agent.
📸 2. Document your property.
Take photos and videos of the interior and exterior of your property before and after the storm. Proper documentation can make a significant difference if you need to file a claim.
🧾 3. Save invoices and receipts.
Keep records of any emergency repairs, mitigation services, and storm-related expenses. This helps demonstrate the steps you took to protect your property from further damage.

1️⃣ Review your insurance policy:
Know your coverage, deductibles, and limits BEFORE you need to file a claim.
2️⃣ Document everything:
Take photos & videos of your home and belongings before, during, and after the storm.
3️⃣ Secure your home :
Board windows, bring in outdoor furniture, etc.
4️⃣ Build your emergency kit :
Water, food, medications, flashlights, and important documents in a waterproof bag.
5️⃣ Know your evacuation route: Have a plan, make sure your whole family knows it, and don't forget to protect your pets! 🐾
And if the storm does hit? Don't fight the insurance company alone.
