One of the good things that came out of the pandemic was having more time to practice-- and I tried to put that time to good use.
Here's a video of me performing the Liszt Piano Sonata in B Minor, one of the great monuments of the piano repertoire. It's a massive, demanding, and deeply rewarding piece, and working on it was one of the most meaningful musical projects I have taken on.
For anyone studying piano, this is a good reminder of what consistent practice can build over time.

One of the best ways to grow as a pianist is to hear great pianists perform live. I'm looking forward to attending Beethoven and Joplin at Artis-Naples on July 16 featuring pianist Konstantin Soukhovetski.

This program looks especially fascinating because it connects Scott Joplin's ragtime, early boogie woogie, and Beethoven's monumental final piano sonata, Piano Sonata No. 32 in C Minor, Op. 111.

For students and music lovers alike, concerts like this are a wonderful way to broaden your piano horizons and hear how different musical styles can speak to each other across time.
