Did you know that maintaining the historic alley character is critical to Telluride’s architectural and historical makeup? We have one of the most distinctive alley scenes in the nation, which provides unique scale and texture to our town.
This year, we are celebrating Telluride's 60th anniversary as a designated National Historic Landmark District! In 1973, the Historic & Architectural Review Commission (HARC) was established to preserve this distinguished designation. Join us for a free HARC Tour this Friday, July 9 at 10am (upcoming tours also scheduled for August 13 & Sept. 10, 2021). These walking tours will explore Telluride architecture and built environment highlighting which buildings have been preserved and how Telluride retains its charming character.
