I attended the Greater Houston Association of Mortgage Brokers and was happy to see old friends and to hear updates from the Commissioner and Director of Licensing and Regulation.
One case that stood out was about education fraud.

RMLO’s PLEASE take your education yourself.
A loan officer had his processor take his education last year for him and is now paying $31,000 in fines, has lost his ability to originate and has been permanently banned from 18 states including Texas.

Don’t be this RMLO!

If you have completed your CE but you didn’t attest and pay, do it TODAY!

You will have to pay 1 1/2 times the renewal fees and remember, you CANNOT originate or discuss loan terms, even with current customers until your license status changes to “authorized to business”.

Get going, you have until 2/28 to attest and pay before you have other requirements to regain your license!
