Check out the Coven Film Festival Short Film Program! It comes highly recommended by some of our past GIFT Fest participants.

Application deadline: Jan 23rd

Apply on Film Freeway: https://filmfreeway.com/COVENFilmFestival

From the program:

The COVEN Film Challenge aims to assist emerging filmmakers in all aspects of the filmmaking process - from idea to the big screen. With an intimate knowledge of the hurdles filmmakers encounter when trying to make a short film, this Challenge hopes to provide meaningful guidance, financial support, in-kind assistance, and collaborative skill building to 5 filmmakers and projects over the course of a few months. The goal is to have a completed short film at the end of the process. This program is open to women and non-binary storytellers and it is encouraged that indigenous, disabled, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC makers submit.

Check out these amazing films and filmmakers from Reel Stories at the BAVC Media Youth and Emerging Media Maker (YEMM) Programs BAVC Media !

ABOUT REEL STORIES

Whether it’s a weekend animation workshop or a two-week summer camp, every Reel Stories program is focused on centering young women and girls’ voices. Working with real equipment and real industry professionals, participants are encouraged to create, write, direct, and edit their own stories within a supportive and collaborative space.

When women, girls, and non-binary filmmakers are better represented behind the scenes, they’re better reflected on the screen. That’s why Reel Stories is training the next generation of empowered filmmakers. Through collaborative, hands-on programs, we’re creating a pipeline of young women and non-binary youth with the skills they need to enter the film and media industry, and the confidence they need to succeed.
