🌍⚡ December Earth Science Week Calendar Activity! ⚡🌍
“Minerals’ Role in Sustainable Energy Sources”

Did you know that the path to a clean-energy future depends on the minerals beneath our feet? This month’s activity—developed by the Mineralogical Society of America—invites students to utilize resources from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) to learn about the minerals needed for renewable technologies.

🔋💡From lithium in batteries to rare earth elements in wind turbines and solar panels, students will investigate which critical minerals make sustainable energy possible and why they matter more than ever.

Great for classrooms, STEM clubs, and curious learners looking to connect geology with real-world energy solutions!
