Big News!

In May, the Canyon Vista Full Orchestra, comprised of members from the Honors Orchestra and Honors Band, recorded for the TMEA Honor Full Orchestra competition. This prestigious contest brought together the best Full Orchestras from across the state this weekend.

We are thrilled to announce that the Canyon Vista Full Orchestra was named best in the state! They will perform at next year's TMEA conference in San Antonio in February.

A huge congratulations goes out to all the performers involved. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you!

Big congrats to CVMS Band alum Lilia Jones for placing as a finalist in the solo contest at the Central Texas Clarinet Camp! Your dedication and hard work have truly paid off, and we're so proud of your amazing achievement. Keep shining and best of luck next year with the Westwood Warrior Band, Lilia!

We are thrilled to share that our very own former Canyon Vista Band alum, Soomin Oh, has been featured on the prestigious NPR show "From the Top"!

Soomin's incredible talent and dedication to classical music have earned her a spot on this nationally acclaimed program that celebrates young musicians from across the country. This is a huge accomplishment and a testament to her hard work and passion for music.

Exciting News: Canyon Vista Honors Band Wins Mark of Excellence Competition for Second Year!

We're proud to share that 2023-24 edition of the Canyon Vista Honors Band has earned the designation of "National Winner" title in the Foundation for Music Education's Mark of Excellence Competition for the second year.

This honor goes to only the top 25% of groups that enter the competition nationwide, showcasing our unwavering dedication to musical excellence.

Thanks to our talented musicians, instructors, and supportive parents for making this possible. Stay tuned for upcoming events as we continue to excel in the music world!

The results of the TMEA Honor Band Recording Competition are in...The CVMS Honors Band placed 4th in the State of Texas! This is a huge honor for all the participating students and staff. Congrats on a great year Canyon Vista Band!

The Canyon Vista Honors Band's recording advanced to the State Finals for the TMEA Honor Band Recording competition today! The Honors Band will compete in the final portion of this competition tomorrow, which will be held in San Antonio at the TBA Convention.

Congratulations to the CVMS Honors Band for earning the amazing honor and being recognized as one of the top ten 3C middle school bands in Texas!

Today the Canyon Vista Honors Band competed in the TMEA Area D Honors Band recording competition. The Honors Band placed 1st out of eight other bands from their area and will advance to the state prelims in July! Congratulations to all students and staff that played a part in receiving this huge honor!

We are pleased to announce that the Canyon Vista Honors Band has been selected to perform at the 2023 Midwest Clinic in Chicago next December! The Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference is the world's largest instrumental music education conference, annually drawing approximately 17,000 attendees to Chicago from all 50 states and as many as forty countries. This is a huge accomplishment for our band program, we are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication these students and directors have put in this year.

Congratulations to last year's Honors Band, Select Band, and Full Orchestra members! Recordings for all three groups were submitted to the Foundation for Music Education's competition last spring. We are so proud of all your hard work and dedication!
