Women of the World: An Area Studies Alumna Panel

In honor of international women’s day and women’s history month, the area studies centers of UT Austin are proud to present an alumna from each of our programs.
The target audience is current students from CoLA, focusing on international studies, politics, area studies etc. The loose format of the event will be 5-10 minute intros from each alumna panelist and then we hope to have moderated questions and answers with students.

We are meeting online today! We are happy to welcome back one of our previous and committed guest speakers.
Antonio Vásquez is a faculty lecturer in the Department of Mexican American and Latina/o Studies at UT Austin. He holds a PhD in Chicano/Latino Studies and American Studies, a B.A. in Political Science and International Studies, as well as numerous other achievements. Dr. Vasquez has published works in a multitude of journals and is currently working on a book examining labor migration and activism in the southern region of the United States.

Are you someone who thinks about composition, lighting, sound, pacing, color correction, and more to get the best final product? Are you looking for the opportunity to build your storytelling skills while developing a film portfolio with actual assignments, challenges, and outcomes?
