There are certain people who leave a lasting imprint on a school community… and for Laurel Mountain, Mrs. Marvel is absolutely one of them. ❤️

Last Friday, we were so proud to celebrate the installation of our commemorative playhouses honoring the incredible legacy of Mrs. Marvel, who served as our Principal from 2019–2025.

Mrs. Marvel guided our school through some uniquely challenging years with grace, heart, humor, dedication, and unwavering love for our students. She was a true force for our community and somehow always managed to inspire students, teachers, and parents alike.

Because honestly… who else would you find:
🐍 Snake hunting on the playground
🌧️ Leading car line barefoot in the rain
💦 Getting dunked in the dunk tank over and over again — all with a huge smile on her face?

That was Mrs. Marvel. Fearless, joyful, hands-on, and endlessly committed to the children of this neighborhood.

These beautiful playhouses are more than just structures on a playground — they are a reminder of the impact one extraordinary leader can have on generations of children and families.

Thank you, Mrs. Marvel, for the laughter, leadership, memories, and love you poured into Laurel Mountain. We are so honored to have had you as part of our story.
