Today, we recognize Juneteenth, a celebration of a significant cultural event in U.S. history. The holiday was first celebrated here in Texas, where on that date in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, slaves were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation.

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” John 15:12

🎢 From the Classroom to the Coaster: Physics Comes Alive at Six Flags!

Our high school physics students recently took their learning to thrilling new heights at Six Flags Fiesta Texas! While most park-goers just enjoy the rides, our students went a step further—collecting real-time acceleration data and analyzing concepts like force, motion, and energy in action.

From the 171-foot drop of Iron Rattler to the high-speed twists, turns, and inversions of Superman Krypton Coaster, this unforgettable field trip turned textbook physics into hands-on discovery—all while building community and making memories.

At Hill Country Christian School of Austin, we believe the best learning is both meaningful and memorable.

As the HillCo Class of 2026 crossed the stage, it marked not only the completion of their time at Hill Country, but the beginning of the next chapter God has prepared for them.

Valedictorian Peyton Galella challenged her peers to be genuine—in their relationships, in who God created them to be, and most importantly, in their faith. Salutatorian Claire Cheng reflected on the memories, friendships, and gifts that shaped the class, encouraging her classmates to continue using their talents to honor God.

At Hill Country, graduation is more than a finish line. It is a commissioning—a moment when families, teachers, and the school community send students into the world with prayer, purpose, and hope.

Class of 2026, we are cheering you on. May you continue to carry the gospel of Christ wherever God leads you!

Leadership starts long before graduation.

Our 3rd graders designed their own STEM games, then joyfully shared them with our preschoolers! As they explained the rules, encouraged their younger friends, and celebrated each turn, our students practiced something bigger than science and creativity: they practiced leadership.

At Hill Country Christian School of Austin, we believe students grow as leaders when they are given meaningful opportunities to serve, teach, and guide others. From 5th graders reading with kindergarteners, to high school students helping middle schoolers host Bible clubs, to our junior class leading the 8th grade retreat, our campus is full of moments where older students pour into younger ones.

We are grateful for a school community where students of every age learn from one another, encourage one another, and grow together.
