McCombs Leadership Program To integrate varied experiences within the framework of the Social Change Model of Leadership Develo

Set yourself apart and gain valuable leadership skills with the award-winning McCombs Leadership Program. The Leadership Program provides you with unique programs and activities to complement your academic requirements while enhancing your leadership development, awareness, and actions on an individual, local, and global level. Get involved with a program that integrates activities that you are al

ready likely to be involved in on campus. The program is not meant to add extra time to your degree; it is meant to help you track your leadership involvement and promote your growth as a leader. Create a Student Leadership Portfolio demonstrating skills, commitment, and involvement to employers or graduate schools. The Leadership Program (LP) has a three-year track and a four-year track. Both tracks provide progressive, extensive activities for you to learn more about yourself, organizations in which you are a part, the community in which you live, and the world in which you're a citizen. Best of all, the program offers you once a semester programs but also allows you to build a portfolio with the other things you're already doing! To facilitate the student’s progression and leadership development from an individual to a global perspective, LP programs are organized to cover the different annual themes based on the Seven C's of the Social Change Model of Leadership Development.

MEET THE COMMUNITY LEADERS

Yo! I’m Heinrick Gonzales and I’m so stoked to be a CL this year. I’m a sophomore finance major from Houston and some of my hobbies include swimming, tennis, and trying new restaurants. I love LP because I’ve learned so much about myself and it’s given me the opportunity to meet some awesome friends. LP helped me feel at home at McCombs and I can’t wait to do the same for the new cohort! Stay steezy, H😎

The McCombs Leadership Program consists of amazing, inspiring members that are doing great things. From being part of different organizations, volunteering on their spare time, double-majoring, being a McCombs student, etc., there is no limit to what our members can do. We want to appreciate you all and highlight all of your accomplishments. This Friday we want to highlight Louis Bariselle. Louis, a Community Leader and a member of the 2019 Cohort, will be interning with PwC’s State Tax Accounting Program this Summer. Louis says, “One thing I learned from recruiting was that you really have to believe in the people and values that you are committing to working with. From those I met at PwC, I felt like we really connected and I am excited to see how I will fit in to the company! Due to coronavirus, however, it is becoming more likely that it will be moved online or cancelled all together. Either way, I am very happy for being selected and will be looking forward to next summer as well.” Congratulations Louis!

"I want to make sure that when I pick goals, I am following
through on identifying why it is important to me, what permissions I need to give myself, and the support I need, instead of just blindly choosing goals with no focus on what the follow through requires
or looks like." We love this wisdom from a first-year LPer's reflection!

This past weekend, we welcomed our newest cohort to the Leadership Program (LP) family. Our students had a blast while creating new memories, friendships, and learning about the LP mission. Here are a few photos from this past weekend featuring the 2016 Cohort.
