Received this picture from a friend today and it’s crazy looking back and realize how quick time passes.

So grateful for the journey and the people we met along the way.

My good friend John O'Rourke - Oh mannn I miss this guy! Was awesome to connect today with him.
Best of luck for Alex Hernandez and Jason Yerrington in the next challenge in UFC.

This year marked 11 years that I’ve arrived in USA, and those guys were the first ones that I’ve met.
It was great couple of years growing together.

Today, I had the opportunity to share a little of my knowledge and passion for martial arts and coaching with some amazing young athletes from Capital City Soccer Club. âšœïžđŸ„Š

A big thank you to Coach Ryan Hastie for the invitation and M. O’Toole for the recommendation. We had an incredible time together with a lot of fun, challenging, and most importantly, purposeful.

One of my main goals today was to help them understand the HUGE difference between being HIT vs. being HURT, and how that mindset applies directly to competitive 1-on-1 situations.

Competition will test you.

You might get hit.
You might lose the ball.
You might get pushed around.
You might lose a battle.

But that doesn’t mean you’re hurt.
And it definitely doesn’t mean you’re defeated.

Developing the proper mindset for competition is important. But developing the mindset to WIN, to keep fighting, responding, and competing when things get uncomfortable is even more important.

So the question is:

How badly do you want to win?
How much are you willing to fight for it?

Everyone wants to win.
Very few are truly committed to what winning requires.

đŸ”„ PRIZE = PURPOSE + PROCESS

You can’t reach the PRIZE without a strong enough PURPOSE to push you through the PROCESS every single day.

Winning starts long before the competition begins.

Best of luck to all these young athletes in the upcoming season. Go compete. Go fight. Go earn it! đŸ”„âšœïžđŸ‘Š

‌ The hardest battles you’ll ever fight won’t happen against another person. They’ll happen inside you.

Fear. Doubt. Laziness. Excuses.

Champions aren’t born by avoiding adversity, they’re built by facing it every single day.

Every time you step on the mats, you’re training for more than a fight.
You’re building the discipline, focus, and character to win in life.

Face your battles. Become the person they can’t break.

Let’s make a great day!!!

What an amazing summer camp we had. None of it won’t be possible without Anna Carolina Cutis and Mica

It’s so amazing to see those kids growing up inside out. Fighteria Summer Camp, we do training a lot BJJ, MUAYTHAI & Strength Training (Btw Jacob Nagy got those kids moving a lot, it was amazing the S&C Kids Class), above all the physical activities what I loved at most was share with them our Character Development lesson. We talked about identity, respect, discipline, courage and gratitude, this was a great moment and of course before every day, every meal. We get together and prayed for the ONLY ONE.

Congratulations to the parents to trust in us and equip those kids. They love Jesus and have already a solid foundation on it, I’m excited for the future. Let’s build more disciples in every way in Jesus name!

See you guys next camp!

đŸ„‹ Every Jiu-Jitsu match tells a story.

The problem is that most practitioners only see techniques.

The best competitors see progression.

When you understand how a fight evolves, your decision-making changes completely.

Instead of asking

“What technique should I do?”

You start asking

“What is my objective in this phase of the match?”

That shift changes everything.

đŸ„‹ Every match begins standing.

đŸ„‹ From there, only 4 outcomes are possible.

đŸ„‹ Once the fight reaches the ground, you’re either playing Top Game or Bottom Game.

đŸ„‹ Your job is to progress through the positions—not skip them.

đŸ„‹ Position creates pressure.

đŸ„‹ Pressure creates mistakes.

đŸ„‹ Mistakes create submissions.

The submission isn’t the goal

It’s the consequence of winning every phase that came before it.

This concept transformed my own Jiu-Jitsu.

One of the four possible outcomes from standing is a direct submission. It’s uncommon, but it’s absolutely part of the game. I’ve personally won multiple matches with a flying armbar, proving that understanding opportunities is just as important as memorizing techniques.

Whether you’re a white belt or a black belt, always ask yourself:

“What phase of the fight am I in right now?”

Once you answer that question

You’ll know exactly what your next objective should be.

That’s how you stop reacting

and start controlling the match.
