The American Library Association documented 487 attempts to censor books at libraries, schools, and universities in 2025. According to the ALA, the reasons most often cited were claims of obscenity; inclusion of LGBTQIA+ representation; topics of race, racism, social justice, and diversity; and political or religious views that the challenger disagreed with. Of the 4,235 unique titles that were challenged/banned in 2025, these are the 11 that were targeted the most:

Join us tonight at the library at 4:00 p.m. along with author Thomas M. Annesley for a presentation all about the book B**r and the Nobel Prize. Then, on Tuesday and Wednesday starting at 10:00 a.m. join us for a live stream of the Gustavus Adolphus Nobel Conference all about the Mississippi River. While you're here, be sure to check out or request a copy of The Great River by Boyce Upholt for the October 27th discussion at 6:00 p.m.
