Here is some crucial news to share regarding the recent student loan payment pause. If you’ve been enjoying a temporary break from those monthly payments, listen up! Time is running out, and it’s time to take action.
The Debt Ceiling deal that will keep the United states from defaulting on its debt was reached. Biden and the House speaker agreed The Dept. of Education wouldn’t be allowed to do any further student loan pause extensions.

Key Dates to Know:
• August 30th, 2023: Interest will start accruing again on federal student loans.
• Soon after August 30th, 2023: federal student loan payments will resume. The official date hasn’t been set yet, but I would assume they will start before the end of September.
Student loan forgiveness isn’t involved in the debt ceiling agreement – here’s that update below
• The Senate and the House passed a bill to block the student loan forgiveness program. Biden will likely to veto this bill & we will continue to wait for the Supreme Court ruling.
• There’s speculation the ruling will come on one of the following days: June 8th, June 15th, June 22nd or June 29th.
