Today marked the inaugural Regents Alumni basketball game. The older squad, comprised of alumni from 2008-2018, took on the newer talent from 2019 and beyond. Salim Hijjar (‘11) and Cooper Smith (‘18) set the tone early, helping their team build a lead that would prove unshakeable. Despite a fierce comeback attempt led by Andrew White (‘23) and Hudson Powell (‘24), the older team held strong. Garrett Gamble (‘14) hit clutch 3’s and McCade Rice (‘14) wrapped up the win with an impressive 4th quarter performance. Final score: 54-46.
Thanks to Coach Brad Styles and Michael Tucker (‘14) for organizing! And the cute fans in the Regents Rowdies section 📣

There are many people at Regents whose legacy will last long after their time at Regents is done, including our Varsity Head Football Coach Tim Phillips.
What you may not know is that Coach Phillips has volunteered his time to Regents football since he began, never taking a paycheck — even as a state championship-winning head coach in one of the most competitive football states in the country. He and his wife Laurie had three children graduate from Regents, and his impact on our community, families, and student-athletes is immeasurable.
While Coach Phillips will remain involved in the program for many years to come, the 2025 season will be final year as head coach.
In 2026, Regents Athletic Director and assistant football coach Kyle Shotwell will step into the role of Head Coach and Coach Phillips will be the Assistant Head Coach. Phillips will remain heavily involved in the program he helped shape, continuing to develop coaches, players, and schemes.
Coach Shotwell brings both collegiate and professional football experience, having played at Cal Poly and on several NFL practice squads. Inducted into Cal Poly’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2024, he combines athletic excellence with strong Christian leadership.
Please join us in thanking Coach Phillips for his extraordinary service and legacy, and in congratulating Coach Shotwell as he prepares to step into this next role.

From Knightline to the Longhorn sidelines! Three Regents dancers have earned a spot on the University of Texas Pom Squad.
Caroline Bray (12th), Haylee Thompson (’24), and Isabelle Chavez (’24) have all earned a spot on this elite Division I SEC college dance team.
We are so proud of these young ladies and the way they represent Regents with excellence and poise. You will be able to catch them performing at UT football and basketball games this season. Excited to cheer them on!
