The Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing (TXICFW) is located within the School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin. Utilizing our experiences in both direct social work practice and social welfare policy, our researchers seek to build evidence for social work practitioners and policy makers to improve practices and systems.

Join Heart Galleries of Texas on October 8th and 15th for a virtual orientation that supports families in Region 7 who are pursuing or have already finalized adoption or Permanent Managing Conservatorship (PMC).

Through trauma-informed education, reflection, and practical strategies, participants will gain a deeper understanding of children’s experiences and learn ways to strengthen safety, connection, healing, and resilience within their families.

Every year, the Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing conducts the Child Care Market Rate Survey, a comprehensive statewide assessment that provides up-to-date data on childcare rates in Texas. The insights gained from this survey are instrumental for local workforce development boards in determining appropriate child care subsidy rates.

TXICFW partnered with the Ray Marshall Center for the Study of Human Resources to undertake the 2026 Texas Child Care Market Rate Survey, and the Texas Workforce Commission contracted the survey as part of an annual project. Read the report ➡ https://tinyurl.com/5fdyfazr
