Helllooooo. I’m slowly emerging from the cocoon I’ve been in. I’ve been intentionally laying low, giving my body, mind and soul the space and grace it has needed to make it through this transition of sending my baby to college.
The past couple of months were full of planning and shopping, creating intentional moments and soaking up the time with my beautiful family, and feeling ALLLLLLLLLL the feels that come with this monumental, life-altering, sacred, brutiful transition.
My daughter has begun a new chapter of her life as a freshman at UT. My son just started his junior year at TCU, about to enter a new phase as he turns 21! And I’m starting what feels like a whole new life as an empty-nester.
I know it is as it should be, and I’m so grateful for the love and relationships we’ve built and for the exciting adventures and opportunities we all have ahead of us. I know the next phase will have its own unique, beautiful gifts.
And I’m letting it be ok to move through it at my own pace as I find my footing in this new era.
As I do, something is already becoming clear. This new era isn’t just about letting go, it’s about what’s opening up too.
One thing I know for sure as I begin this season: I’ve never been more excited about my work. Maybe it’s no coincidence that as one chapter of mothering shifts, there’s a creative fire rising right alongside it. I’ve got so many ideas churning and I can’t wait to get creating and sharing them with you.
In the meantime, I’m sending love to all who are finding themselves in transitions of their own. May you give yourself the space and grace you need too.
