At AMP BJJ, we're more than just a gym—we're a Family Training Center where you and your loved ones can grow together in mind, body, and soul through the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. With two Austin locations—Westlake and Northwest Hills—we

Labor Day Schedule Update at AMP BJJ! 🥋🇺🇸

Regular classes are canceled on Monday, Sept 7, so our team can enjoy the holiday with family!

Need to get some mat time in? We’ve got you covered with a special Labor Day Open Mat at NOON (12:00 PM) at our Northwest Hills and Cedar Park locations only! All other locations will be closed.

Holiday Breakdown:

Sat 9/5 & Sun 9/6: Regular schedule everywhere

Mon 9/7: Open Mat at 12 PM (NW Hills & Cedar Park ONLY) | All other locations CLOSED

Tue 9/8: Regular schedule resumes at all locations

Stripe promo day at AMP! 🥋 These young grapplers have been putting in serious work on their technique, and what really stands out? Their survival skills and rock-solid defense. That’s the foundation of a strong game. Huge props to every kid who earned their stripes today—you’re building something real!

As adults stepping onto the mat to compete, we all face the same thing: the discomfort of showing up, giving our best, and facing an opponent who pushes back. In jiu-jitsu, there must be a winner and a loser. That’s not a failure of the system. That’s the system working.

Competition teaches us something a technique clinic cannot: how to show up when it matters.

And here’s what I noticed watching our adults compete: our opponents were our best teachers. They exposed gaps. They showed us what works and what doesn’t. They made us better.

So whether you won or lost this weekend, ask yourself this: Am I more capable on the mats today than the version of me that first stepped on the mat? That’s the real measure.

We’re proud of everyone who competed. Keep challenging yourself. Keep growing.

It’s you against you at the end of the day.
