Recently graduated senior Emma Kent has been named the TAPPS 5A Fine Arts Student of the Year for the 2025-26 school year.

The honor caps a decorated and impressive four-year career at Brentwood Christian School, where Kent was a three-time state champion for the Lady Bellas (TAPPS Dance), and competed as part of Encore (high school competition choir), the TAPPS One Act Play troupe, and was a multi-year lead in the annual school musical, including this year's production of "Into the Woods." Her individual accomplishments were vast, including all-star cast selection for One Act Play and 1st Team All State for the Lady Bellas.

Kent also won the award for the 2024-25 school year, making her one of only a handful of students in the history of TAPPS to ever be selected for the honor more than once.

A talented singer, actor, dancer, student and friend, Kent embodied the mission of BCS, as her faith and service mindset was at the heart of her excellence in numerous disciplines. She leaves behind a legacy of success and excellence that will be a benchmark for our future students to reach for as the years go by. Congratulations to Emma on this outstanding achievement!

The three-time state champion BCS Lady Bellas added to their impressive collection of awards in 2026 over the weekend at the Ascension Dance competition in Belton, performing well across both the high school and middle school teams and earning a slew of trophies headed back to campus for display.

The high school team earned first-place in all of its dances over the weekend, including first in officer and trio dances and a first-place hip-hop routine. Sophomore Hollis Leeward was first amongst all sophomores at the competition, taking the top prize amongst 30 soloists. Junior Peyton Tucker was first runner-up in the junior category.

The Bellas were awarded high school grand champion status, which put them as first among all private schools in attendance and second to only one public school (Hutto). They were less than .5 away from the overall top prize!

The fun didn't stop there as the middle school Bellas also earned first place in all team dances and were awarded the coveted Apex award, which is earned by receiving the highest points on a dance amongst all competitors. The group was the overall grand champion on the afternoon!

A huge congrats to director Lisa Warner, Taylor Warner and all of the Bellas on another stellar performance!

Please check your emails from President Burcham and consider donating much-needed supplies to the cause near Marble Falls this week. We are in prayer for all the families who lost loved ones, homes and more. As we continue to believe that God is good, even in the midst of unimaginable tragedy, let us be His hands and feet for those who need the reminder of the ultimate hope in his son Jesus.
