We were proud to honor more of our scholarship recipients at lunch last week! Pictured are two of our employee scholarship recipients who are furthering their career in education: Kaden Griffitt from Vega ISD and Christine Bentley, a teacher from West Texas High School. Also honored was student Kynlie Green from West Texas High School, recipient of the Live Oak Public Finance scholarship.

We have been having a blast getting to meet our scholarship winners more personally this season!

Something you may not know is not only does TACS provide scholarships for students, but we also grant scholarships to district employees seeking to further their career and education.

One of our recipients this year was Humberto Garcia, who works at Alice ISD. We loved the vision he shared for retaining quality teachers. We wish him all the best in his doctorate program! Here he is pictured with Dr. Cynthia Gonzalez, assistant principal, Dr. Marissa Kubala, principal, and Dr. Cidonio Cantú, ECHS principal.

Barry Haenisch, our past Executive Director who still works for TACS doing regional visits and penning articles for our weekly communique, was honored last week with the McMurry Distinguished Achievement Award for Education. He and his wife Linda (pictured with Barry and his grandson below) are both McMurry University alumni. Barry has truly dedicated his life to public education and we couldn’t be prouder!
