Kol Halev Hebrew School

This year our Sunday School students (ages 3-14) will have the option to meet monthly in person (outdoors and socially-distanced) with additional activities to do at home, or to learn completely from home.

Our curriculum is developed by the Institute for Southern Jewish Life and is both transdenominational and transformational.

Hebrew lessons (in-person or distanced) are also offered, as well as a completely customized route to Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

Ellen Allard: Family Jewish Music Concert Award-winning artist, Ellen Allard, joined by a few of her friends, will entertain you at this free, appropriate for all ages concert

Yesterday, the students showcased what they learned in Hebrew School this year in unique ways - Jewish holiday charades, singing the Hebrew alphabet and numbers, reading about influential Biblical people and a rap about wandering the desert! We wrapped up the year with cupcakes!

Yesterday we held a school wide Passover Seder complete with prayers, songs, questions and more!

Today we held a special Havdalah Sharing Service and invited local Boy Scouts to join us. Our Hay student shared information about her recent Bat Mitzvah and our Boy Scouts led us in a pledge as well as a reading which described and explained various attributes that people should strive for. We lit the Havdalah candle, sang, did additional prayers over the wine. It was a great way to end the weekend!

This week our Education Leader from the Institute of Southern Jewish Life visited and led the school in Passover based relay races! Students had fun jumping like frogs and turned the Nile river water red!

Today students began learning/reviewing the four questions for Passover and made a feather/wooden spoon to sweep chametz the night before Passover!

Today we celebrated Purim complete with costumes, hamantaschen, noise makers and the Purim Megillah reading!
