Austin Community College - Diagnostic Medical Imaging School . College & University The Diagnostic Medical Imaging Radiology Program prepares qualified individuals for a career as a radiologic technologist, R.T(R).

Radiographers safely administer low levels of ionizing radiation to obtain diagnostic images. Individuals must be detail-oriented, precise and analytical, and understand spatial relationships. Extensive knowledge of patient care, anatomy & physiology, image production, radiation protection and procedures is required. Graduates are eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist

s certification exam. Employment opportunities include hospitals, imaging centers, physician offices and clinics. After certification, a radiographer may pursue other career opportunities in advanced imaging modalities offered at ACC.
