Remembering September 11 with Courage, Faith & Hope
Today, our 1st–3rd graders participated in a thoughtful, child-friendly conversation about September 11. We talked about what it means to remember, why patriotism matters, and the incredible bravery shown by so many heroes that day.
Our students learned that heroes aren’t only people who do extraordinary things—they are also the people who choose to serve, help, protect, comfort, and care for others when it is needed most. We talked about firefighters, police officers, first responders, military members, and ordinary people who demonstrated extraordinary courage.
Most importantly, we connected our conversation to our faith. ❤️ We were reminded that even in times of fear and sadness, God is with us. We can respond to difficult moments by showing the love of Christ through kindness, compassion, courage, and service to others.
As we remember those who were lost and honor those who served, we pray that our children will grow to be young people who love God, love their neighbors, stand for what is right, and courageously serve others.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid... for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9
We remember. We honor. We pray. We choose courage and love.
