To address the severe academic achievement gap that exists between collegiate males within education
The goals of the program are to develop and promote a culture amongst young men that takes pride in academic excellence and aids in decreasing dropout rates at all educational settings, build stronger academic identity amongst young men, and add additional scholarly research on the African American male educational experience.

Last Sunday the Sweatt Center had our first event of the semester! Black Male Orientation. From meeting our 2019-2020 Sweatt Center Student Exec Board to engaging with our keynote speaker: Harvard Law grad, former NFL Coach, and Founder of CSLi at UT-Austin Dr. Daron Roberts the day was filled with networking, food, & fellowship!

Congratulations to our International Scholarship recipients! AAMRI and our sister program (FLI) awarded over $10,000 worth of scholarships for our Study Abroad programs offered through the UT Division of Diversity and Community Engagement (DDCE) out to Cape Town, South Africa; Beijing, China; and Costa Rica!
