Here I am with Savanna, winner of my young achiever award! This award is for a student 6-years-old or younger who shows a lot of dedication, improvement, and enthusiasm during lessons. Savanna started lessons last October and is just five years old. She usually practices every single day of the week and arrives at lessons very well-prepared. She played beautifully at the recital, and I’m very proud of her progress ❤️

I handed out a few special awards at my recital last weekend! Rowan won the positive attitude award. While all of my students have a positive attitude, Rowan stood out just a little bit in this regard. She always comes in prepared and excited to learn, follows my instructions, and just approaches her lessons with a fantastic attitude. We’re about to graduate from her first piano book, so this recital was a great celebration of her progress! Congratulations, Rowan, I’m very proud of you ❤️

I’m excited to begin sharing some pictures from our recent studio recital! Here I am with my student Viviana after the performance. When I asked her if she wanted to play a duet with me for the recital, Viviana said, “No! I want to play by myself like the big kids!” Viviana very fearlessly opening our recital all by herself and did an amazing job. Very proud of her ❤️

🎶MEET YOUR NEW PIANO TEACHER IN AUSTIN, TX🎶

✨Dr. Vivian Anderson✨

Known for her imaginative and colorful performances, Dr. Vivian Anderson is emerging as both a performer and teacher with dazzling artistry and intellectual depth. A native of Ann Arbor, Michigan, she was surrounded by the arts at a young age and began piano lessons at age five after teaching herself to read music. Dr. Anderson has been teaching piano for the past seven years, and most recently served on faculty at the Musical Arts Center of San Antonio.

As a teacher, Dr. Anderson is committed to helping her students develop a love and passion for music. Her teaching style is structured and well-rounded while still allowing students the freedom to explore any area of music that they wish. Dr. Anderson aims to create a nurturing but disciplined environment in her studio. Students are expected to practice consistently throughout the week, arrive prepared for lessons, and participate regularly in performances and recitals.

Dr. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Music in piano performance from the University of Michigan, a Master of Music in piano performance from Indiana University, and a Doctor of Music in piano performance from Florida State University.
