Welcome to a new week, infused with full moon energy! We have had a few questions regarding our Upcoming Tarot Workshop and would love to enlighten any and all intrigued and inspired to join us as we make music infused with magic! FAQ Below:

Q. How will Tarot help me write my song?
A. Tarot cards have evolved over hundreds of years (since the 15th century!) to ignite the imagination and engage the subconscious (the source of creativity and flow). The cards are crafted to evoke story and strong emotion—twin engines that can carry you from idea germination to song completion without you ever having to worry about “drawing a blank.” Instead of drawing a blank—you draw a card and keep going. You may be surprised by what you create—but that is part of the fun!

Q. Do I have to have a working knowledge of music theory?
A. This workshop will focus on crafting lyrics and melody around basic ABABCB song structure. Pre-existing knowledge of chord progression and music theory are helpful but not at all required and will not be covered in the course.

Q. What should I bring?
A. Acoustic instruments are welcome, but not essential. You may want to bring along a favorite notebook or writing utensil--plus a recording device for taking audio notes and recording your song before you leave (voice memo apps are an easy option pre-installed on most people's phones).

Q. Will I have the opportunity to share my song?
A. Though not obligatory, sharing your song will be encouraged within the session. This doesn’t mean that your song has to be immaculately polished—or that your voice has to be either. The objective of the workshop is to celebrate all stages of the process and emphasize the joy of creation even when it is messy and imperfect. Volunteers who are interested in sharing their work more widely may be included in Arcana Craft’s future songwriting workshop page.
