Riverland Community College Massage Therapy Clinicals

Riverland Community College Massage Therapy Clinicals Our Chair massage clinicals will start back up in October 2026, with table massage to follow in January 2027! Thank you for helping our students grow.

Austin Campus - West Building Room A147 Starting each January, the Riverland Community College Massage Therapy Program begins clinicals to provide the massage therapy students with their clinical hours needed for graduation. Massage clinicals are a great way to experience massage at a steeply discounted rate while helping the students get the practice they need to become great massage therapists.

Every year, the services offered and their prices may change a bit depending on that years class. Each class is responsible for setting up and running their own "business" under the guidance of the program instructors so they obtain the knowledge to run their own businesses or work in another business upon graduation. We ask that you remember that we are not professionals yet, but we are working on our educations in this field. We need your honest and constructive criticism on our evaluations after each of your bookings so that we may become the best massage therapists we can be. Whether you try a different massage therapy student each time you book or if you end up finding one that you really connect with, we hope that you enjoy every one of your sessions and come back again and again.

Our future massage therapists are hard at work! 💆‍♂️

Our Class of 2027 Massage Therapy students are officially diving into their Intro classes, learning the basics, practicing their skills, and apparently… already working on recruitment!

Today, we had a very special volunteer join the class, 8-year-old Max! He bravely stepped up to help our students practice and get comfortable working with a client. We can't promise he wasn't mainly there for the attention, though.🤪

These students are working hard, learning quickly, and getting one step closer to welcoming YOU onto their massage tables!

So consider this your friendly warning: massages will be coming soon! 👀💆‍♀️

We are so excited to watch the Class of 2027 grow, learn, and develop their skills. Stay tuned… your future relaxation might just be in their hands! 😉

What if helping people feel their best was your career?

It’s National Relaxation Day, and we're giving a little love to the people who know that relaxation is more than just a luxury. It's a skill, an art and for some, an incredibly rewarding career.

Riverland's Massage Therapy program gives students the hands-on education and experience to turn an interest in wellness and helping others into a rewarding career.

So if you've ever thought “I could be good at this…” consider this your sign.

So proud to visit a recent grad. At his new business.

This photo represents something very significant. This is Karla, one of my instructors and the coordinator of the Massage Therapist Program at Riverland Community College in Austin, MN, where I trained as a Professional in the field. She visited me today and had a Massage from me—something she had mentioned She would do back when I was her student afther i shared my idea of starting my own business here in Preston, MN.
I will remember this day as a very special one. Thank you. I couldn't have made a better choice; I am fortunate that my Instructors are Professionals with extensive experience and a truly human approach.
If anyone reading this knows someone who would like to become a Massage Therapist, the Program still has a few openings for Fall 2026.

BREAKING NEWS
Scientists have confirmed that rubbing peoples shoulders while saying;
"Wow, thats tight."..does NOT qualify you to be a massage therapist. Neither does giving your spouse a five-minute shoulder rub while complaining about your own back hurting. I know this may be shocking to some, but it turns out...you actually have to go to school!
You might be destined to become a massage therapist if you have some of these red flags:
🚩 Every family gathering somehow ends with someone asking, "Can you rub my shoulders for just a second?"
🚩 You can find a knot faster than you can find your car keys.
🚩You've been told, "You should seriously do this for a living." (More than once.)
🚩You like helping people feel better instead of staring at a computer all day.
🚩You think getting paid to reduce stress sounds better than being the reason people have stress.
If you found yourself nodding along...keep reading!
💆 The Riverland Community College Massage Therapy Program is now enrolling for Fall 2026!
Here's what makes us different:
-Learn from Karla Caruso and Becky Flohrs, who bring 45+ years of combined experience in the massage therapy profession.
- Start with a 2-week crash course, then attend class Monday through Wednesday from August through May.
- Everything is taught to current national standards, so you'll graduate with the knowledge and skills today's profession expects.
- We believe in student-led learning, because we don't just want you to hear the material—we want to make sure you truly understand it.
Here's the catch...
We only accept 16 students each year.
Not because we're trying to be exclusive...
Because that's how we make sure every student gets the attention they deserve.
Once those 16 seats are filled, they're gone until next year.
📞 Ready to learn more?
Contact Amber Caswell in Administration at 507-433-0583 to reserve your spot.
And if massage therapy isn't for you...

Someone on your friends list is currently giving free shoulder rubs at every family gathering.
It's time they started getting paid for it. 😉

Congratulations to our 2026 graduates! We are so proud of you! ( more pictures to come!)

Our Massage Clinicals are officially done for the school year! Thank you to everyone who came out, got a massage or chair massage and supported our students. Helping them to grow and learn skills for them to expand in the real world takes a village. We will be back in mid- October for chair massage. Our calendar is being a little funny and not letting us take it offline ( not ready to be done yet, I guess !) Please know that if you book something now, you will show up to a locked room. Check back in September for announcements on our calendar openings for October. Thank you again for being a part of our program. See you in the fall!
