After 54 years, the U.S. Department of Education has discontinued federal funding for the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) at St. Edward’s University.

As CAMP alumni, we know the truth: CAMP changes lives. It dismantles cultural, socioeconomic, and academic barriers, creating pathways that otherwise would not exist. For students from migrant farm-working families, the challenges are profound — and without the kind of holistic, comprehensive support CAMP provides, many doors to higher education will close.

This is where you come in.

Federal support is gone, but the need for CAMP has never been greater. Today’s students stand where we once stood — hoping for the same chance to thrive, lead, and lift their families out of poverty. 🚨St. Edward's University - CAMP Alumni 🚨

If you graduated from SEU and are a CAMP alum, Gilbert Contreras is opening Career Day this year to those that are interested in attending. The date of the event is Saturday, Feb. 17th from about 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. If you're interested in attending, please send him a DM or email him at [email protected].

You would meet with a small group of first year CAMP students letting them know about your career and what your day to day looks like. He only has room for about 12 alumni so be sure to respond early if interested!
