Introducing our Keynote Speaker and Civics 101 Trainer!
Brandi Clark Burton aka EcoBrandi grew up in Austin and is both known as "the queen of green" and a launch queen, having started a whole bunch of things that didn't exist before - businesses, nonprofits, first-time events, and initiatives.
Her enthusiasm for learning and sharing mostly sustainability-related information spills out as a writer, public speaker, event organizer, advocate, and nonstop networker for good. Brandi navigates and bridges connections between the public, private, and nonprofit sectors as well as education and media.
She is the Founder & Chief Inspiration Officer of EcoNetworking and The Austin Common (as well as its predecessor The Austin EcoNetwork, which she started 20 years ago. She was a Senior Policy advisor on all sustainability issues for the previous City of Austin Mayor Steve Adler, has served on numerous boards and commissions and task forces, and has worked on every climate-plan-writing team Austin has had since 2007.
Amy Stansbury- is a local journalist & civic enthusiast with a passion for making government accessible & easy to understand. She is the Editor-In-Chief of The Austin Common, a local news site that helps Austinites be informed and make a difference. Sheβs also the host of The Austin Common Radio Hour, a podcast & radio show on 91.7 FM with the same mission. In 2017, she co-authored βA Beginnerβs Guide To Local Government,β a coloring book/ zine that teaches Austinites the basics of how local government works & how to get involved.
