Spanish in Texas

Spanish in Texas The Spanish in Texas project is profiling Spanish as it is spoken throughout Texas today. The project directors are Barbara E.

Our team of Spanish-English bilingual undergraduates from UT is recording interviews and conversations with Spanish speakers throughout the state. We are working with bilingual specialists and educators to develop instructional materials based on the video corpus for use by student, educators, researchers and the general public. A central goal of the Spanish in Texas project is to encourage the pu

blic to view local varieties of Spanish and their speakers as important resources for learning about language and culture. Spanish in Texas is part of the 2010-2014 program of the Center for Open Educational Resources and Language Learning (COERLL), a National Foreign Language Resource Center at the University of Texas at Austin.
