Update! I am consolidating social media accounts. Empowered Beginnings still runs the Birth, Baby! Academy Birth Doula Training Program and we will continue to have in-person workshops, the online, self-paced program, mentorship, and business coaching!

We love celebrating the doulas who come through our program and go on to do incredible things - and Kim Berry is one of them. She’s the kind of person you meet and instantly love. When she made the leap from an office job to doula work, she truly hit the ground running and has been thriving in new career.

For the past year, Kim has been working with a doula agency in Austin, and she’ll continue taking clients through the agency while also soft launching her own doula business. Many doulas balance both as they grow their work.

As a Black doula, Kim understands firsthand the urgent need for change in Black maternal health. A big part of her work is making doula support more accessible to families who may not have the resources, but deeply need the care and advocacy.

We’re so excited to lift her up—go give her new IG a follow and keep up with all the amazing things she’s doing!

For World Doula Week we are spotlighting some of the doulas who have trained with BBA. Amanda was at our very first in-person training in 2024 and has been thriving ever since! Amanda's clients love her calm, nurturing demeanor and the passion she brings to her work.

You can find Amanda on her IG - she is all booked through May but is taking birth clients for June, July, and August!
