Congratulations to Professor Emeritus Byron Tapley who was selected to receive the 2020 John Leland Atwood award that recognizes outstanding educators in aerospace engineering! Dr. Tapley has been teaching and conducting research in the department for the past 60 years where he developed a world-renowned space academic program. He also established the UT Center for Space Research and served as the center director for 46 years and is an ASE/EM distinguished alumnus. Hard at work on ensuring that SERPENT would be able to handle heavy glare situations with the stereo camera, the SWD team accidentally created some abstract art while working with the Seeker-1 flight data set. Enjoy!

We had a great time last Saturday at showcasing our lab and our first Space Trivia Jeopardy Gameshow! Thank you Women in Engineering Program - The University of Texas at Austin for bringing in over 9000 K-12 students and getting them excited about STEM!
