BookPeople BookPeople, Texas’ largest independent bookstore, has been a staple in Austin’s Community of Books since 1970. From Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, "Book People" are a group of people dedicated to preserving books in a world where the written word is forbidden and books are burned.

✊🏿 Some of our Becker 5th graders met with the Crockett SOAR (Students Organized for Anti-Racism) students yesterday to discuss and share our experiences reading the book.

❤️ High schoolers read the YA version, these 5th graders read the kids’ version this semester.

😍 We are so incredibly proud of the vulnerable conversations and advocacy work they are doing!
