Dr. Elesha Roberts, a clinical assistant professor with the School of Nursing, has been accepted for publication in The Nursing Education Perspectives Journal. Her article title is "Nursing Faculty Mental Health Literacy Assessment and Evaluation." The journal is the official publication of the National League for Nursing. The work was done as part of her DNP completion.
The article highlights the importance of Mental Health Training for nursing faculty and explores how nursing faculty understand and respond to the mental health needs of students in nursing programs, and demonstrates the positive impact of Mental Health First Aid training. Findings show that targeted training can strengthen faculty mental health literacy, equipping educators with the knowledge and confidence to better recognize concerns, support student well-being, and connect students with appropriate resources.
