She's a licensed Acupuncturist with a strong love for all children. She opened Mama Melli's in 2013 so that she could embrace and combine these 2 passions. The result has been more than she could have ever hoped for. Being a mother of 2, she relates to all parents and understands the challenges and fears that go with entrusting your child with someone outside of the family. She's dedicated to be there for the parents as well as each little kiddo.

We’re shining the spotlight on Miss Veronica, our Forest Program Lead Teacher! 💚

Miss Veronica is the one we have to thank for so much of the creativity and hard work that went into our camping theme this month. From camping journals to our special Camp Out Day, she put so much thought and intention into creating experiences that were fun, meaningful, and full of learning.

Every day, she’s balancing so much—keeping our Forest kiddos safe and cool, helping them stay engaged and on task, and creating opportunities for them to learn, communicate, problem-solve, and become more independent.

But perhaps most importantly, Miss Veronica makes sure our kids are still having a childhood. There is plenty of learning happening in this program, but there is also plenty of imagination, laughter, exploration, messy hands, and just plain FUN.

We are so grateful for all that Miss Veronica pours into our Forest Program and our kiddos! ❤️⭐

Childhood is supposed to be a little messy. A little wild. And a whole lot magical. ✨

It’s muddy hands and paint-covered fingers.
It’s jumping in rain puddles.
Running through sprinklers.
Climbing trees.
Finding “crystals.”
Laughing until your belly hurts.

These are the little moments that become the big memories of childhood. ❤️

At Mama Melli Childcare Center, we believe childhood should be joyful—and that includes the grown-ups!

Our younger program is about nurturing the whole child—not just preparing them academically, but giving them space to build friendships, develop confidence, explore their environment, and simply enjoy being little.

One piece of wood. Two completely different ideas. 🌿

Earlier in the day, a few of our Forest Program friends were busy building a racetrack for their cars.

Later, that same piece of wood became a balance beam.

This is exactly why we intentionally keep our Forest Program simple. We don't need a playground full of toys to keep children entertained. We give them space, natural materials, and the freedom to decide what happens next.

A piece of wood can be a racetrack.
A balance beam.
A bridge.
A road.
A fort.
Or something we haven't even thought of yet.

And when children have to create the play themselves, something really special happens. They use their imaginations. They work together. They share ideas. They disagree. They negotiate. They compromise. They problem-solve. They learn to listen to one another.

Sometimes the best learning isn't something we planned.

Sometimes it's just a piece of wood and a group of kids figuring it out together.
