Texas Writes is a statewide program that brings accomplished authors to rural libraries for a half day of presentations and panel discussions focused on the craft of writing ✒️✒️

This month, our Goldthwaite, TX, program will feature Meg Gardiner presenting “Killer Plots: Building Tension & Creating Conflict in Fiction” and Stacey Swann presenting “X Marks the Spot: Mapping Real Places in Fiction”.

We’ll start at 10:00 AM CT with our presentations and we’ll conclude with a conversation with both authors, moderated by Texas Writes Coordinator Becka Oliver.

First known as the Violet Crown Awards, with the later addition of the Teddy Awards to celebrate writers of children’s literature, the WLT has been recognizing the publishing accomplishments of Texas authors since the very first award ceremony in 1991.
