On Sunday, the Refugee Arts, Crafts & Food Bazaar came alive with the sights, sounds, and tastes of cultures from around the world. Walking through the hall, you could hear laughter, smell the aroma of spices and baked goods, and see tables overflowing with jewelry, paintings, clothing, and handicrafts — each piece telling a story of resilience, talent, and tradition.
It was an afternoon of joy, connection, and community. The Gii Team is proud to partner with the YMCA, whose support makes this celebration possible. A big shout out to Sean Doles, Olivia Piacenza, Mia Herrera, Vandana Gupta, and Ellie Kaufman — your energy, creativity, and commitment made the bazaar shine. You truly went above and beyond, and the gratitude in the smiles of our artisans and guests said it all. 💛

Yet another fabulous trip, which has left us inspired!

Our founder, Anjum Malik, has just returned from an inspiring whirlwind 36 hours in Washington, D.C., and the energy she brings back is truly infectious! Anjum is invigorated and deeply moved by the remarkable people she connected with and the powerful conversations she had, along with the chance to catch up with colleagues and associates. Each meeting was filled with meaningful exchanges and heartfelt reunions with friends and colleagues who share our vision for a better future.

We are incredibly grateful to Ambassador Oksana Markarova and Andriy Tsymbaliuk for graciously welcoming us into the majestic setting of the Ukrainian embassy, where we discussed Ukraine's most pressing needs. A special thank-you to Zheela Noori for the insightful interview at the dynamic Voice of America. We are also deeply grateful to Merin Rajadurai for a delightful dinner filled with engaging conversation, and to Katie Schweickhardt at the Stand Together Foundation for her kindness and graciousness that made Anjum's time in DC all the more special.

Our deepest appreciation goes to James Rosebush and Nancy Rosebush for their incredible mentorship, support, and friendship — their guidance means the world to us.

This trip has reignited our passion, deepened our bonds, and reaffirmed our commitment to the mission we are advancing. The Gii team is more excited than ever for what lies ahead and is determined to continue making an even greater impact!
