The Houston Area TSTA-Retired recently visited the powerful 3‐story African American Heritage Monument in Kendleton, TX. It is a testament to the town's resilient Freedman roots and its people's determination to build a brighter future. Located along scenic walking trails with informative plaques near two historic Black cemeteries in Bates Allen Parks, the monument serves as a beacon of hope and education shedding light on African American history in Fort Bend County and inspiring positive change.
