They also feasted on pastries from Sébastien Bouillet: before visiting two of the famous murs peints: Le Mur des Canuts and la Fresque des Lyonnais! Next stop the Alps!! 🏔️🌲☀️

What a beautiful day to explore 'la colline qui prie' in Lyon! The 2026 Lyon Summer Program spent the day Wednesday exploring Fourvière starting with a scavenger hunt in Vieux Lyon, followed by a visit to la Basilique Notre Dame de Fourvière and a visit to the Musée Gallo-Romain, where students viewed artifacts from Lyon during the Roman Empire and hung out in a Roman théatre dating to the first century!

The first week of classes in Lyon for the 2026 Lyon Summer Program is in the books! Students celebrated with a weekend excursion to the Beaujolais region, which included a visit to the medieval village Oingt, one of Frances "villages des pierres dorées", lunch at the Auberge de Montmelas, and finally a dégustation de vin at the Domaine Frédéric Berne, where they learned all about growing vignes and making wine. 🍷🔆

Dean's Distinguished Graduate, Nehir Aran, was honored along with her fellow awardees last night at a dinner held by COLA. She is graduating with a double major in French and Nutrition and plans to go to medical school. Nehir has been such a wonderful presence in the French and Italian Department over the past few years, participating in the Lyon Summer Program in 2023, serving as president of the FRIT Ambassadors, and organizing the French Language Circle.

We are so proud of her and she will be missed! Bravo Nehir!
