We used resistance to build grip strength today! ✋ Why does grip strength matter?
* ✏️ Writing & drawing: Stronger hands make it easier to control pencils, crayons, and markers without tiring quickly.
* ✂️ Cutting: Using scissors requires hand strength and coordinated finger movements.
* 🧥 Independence: Buttons, zippers, opening containers, and tying shoes all require hand strength.
* 🧩 Manipulating materials: Building with blocks, using playdough, puzzles, beads, and small manipulatives strengthens the hands.
* 🧠 Hand-eye coordination: Activities that involve gripping and manipulating objects help children coordinate what they see with what their hands are doing.
* 🏃 Whole-body development: Grip strength also contributes to climbing, hanging, carrying, and other playground activities.
