One time presentations to Youth Workers and Medical Professionals
Staff Educator Job Description: LifeGuard Character & Sexuality Education is a s*xual risk avoidance character-based pregnancy prevention education program of Austin LifeCare. Staff educators are expected to teach s*x education in alignment with s*xual risk avoidance education definition provided by leading national SRA advocate organization Ascend (www.weascend.org).
Austin LifeCare is a local nonprofit pregnancy resource center that provides compassionate and practical services for the difficult issues surrounding pregnancy. These include prevention education, pregnancy support and services and recovery programs for people who have experienced s*xual abuse, miscarriage or abortion.
Principle Functions: The Staff Educator delivers presentations for all of the LifeGuard services, including but not limited to classroom presentations, teen leadership programs, and parent workshops.
Reports to: LifeGuard Program Director
Minimum Requirements:
Have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in a helping field
Five years of public speaking experience
Three years of youth development experience
Completion of the eight-week LifeGuard training program
Ability to carry out duties with minimal supervision
Willingness to work a flexible schedule
Credible references
Must be a team player
Job Type: Part-time (Morning and/or Afternoon shifts are available)
