Thinking about our 5th–8th Grade Field Day! ☀️🐾

Our middle school Bobcats wrapped up the year with a day full of competition, teamwork, and plenty of school spirit. Whether they were racing across the field, battling it out in tug-of-war, or cheering on their classmates, students brought energy and enthusiasm to every event.

Field Day is one of those traditions that reminds us that some of the best lessons happen outside the classroom—leadership, perseverance, sportsmanship, and community.

What a great way to celebrate another year as Bobcats! 💚💛

A look back at our 5th–8th Grade Academic & Athletic Awards Banquet from earlier this month! 🏅📚

We celebrated the students who continue to show what it means to be student athletes and students first — balancing dedication in the classroom, leadership in our community, and commitment in competition.

The evening honored our Honor Roll students, graduating NJHS members, Robotics Team, and our student athletes for all they accomplished this year. We are so proud of our Bobcats for the way they lead with integrity, work hard, and represent our school both on and off the court. 💚🐾

Field Day fun was in full swing for our 1st–4th grade Bobcats! 🐾☀️💦

From friendly competition to team challenges, tug-of-war battles, and lots of laughter, our students spent the day showing great sportsmanship, teamwork, and Bobcat spirit. Whether competing in the Athletic Center, cooling off with outside water games, or cheering on classmates, every student helped make the day unforgettable!

We’re so thankful for our teachers, volunteers, and staff who helped make this special day possible for our students. 💚

Hard work in the classroom and dedication on the court, field, and track deserve to be celebrated! 🐾📚🏅

We honored our 4th Grade Honor Roll students along with our 1st–4th grade CYO athletes at our Academic & Athletic Breakfast. We are so proud of these Bobcats for showing commitment, perseverance, teamwork, and excellence both academically and athletically.

A special shoutout to and our partnership in bringing athletics to our students beginning in 1st grade. Opportunities like these help our students grow in confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit both on and off the field! 💚💛

Thank you to our families, coaches, and teachers for supporting and encouraging our students every step of the way. Congratulations, Bobcats!

Our littlest Bobcats brought the energy to Field Day last week! ☀️🐾

From relay races to water games and nonstop smiles, our PK3, PK4, and Kindergarten students had the BEST day making memories together. A huge thank you to our amazing 8th graders for stepping up to lead, encourage, and assist throughout the day — the perfect example of our older students helping guide and care for our youngest Bobcats.

At St. Ignatius, we love watching friendships, leadership, and school spirit grow at every age!

Earlier this month, our St. Ignatius community gathered for the beautiful tradition of May Crowning as we honored both our Blessed Mother, Mary, and all mothers ahead of Mother’s Day. 🌸

A heartfelt thank you to the Aceves Family for handcrafting this year’s stunning crown for Mary, and to all of our students and families who brought flowers to present during the celebration. Your love, reverence, and participation made this tradition so meaningful for our school community.

May we continue to follow Mother Mary’s example of faith, love, and devotion as we finish this school year strong.

Our 3rd grade students had an unforgettable experience diving into the world of birds of prey as they began their owl pellet dissection lab! 🦉🔬

A huge THANK YOU to Ed Sones, independent bird and animal rehabber, for sharing his incredible knowledge and bringing owls, hawks, and other amazing birds of prey to St. Ignatius. Seeing these majestic creatures up close made learning come alive in such a meaningful way for our students.

Experiences like this inspire curiosity, wonder, and a deeper appreciation for God’s creation. Thank you, Ed, for making this day so special for our Bobcats! 💚🐾

🎉 BIG news, Bobcat family! 🎉

Following her graduation with her Master’s Degree from the University of Notre Dame and successful completion of the ACE Program, we are thrilled to share that Ms. Mackin will be staying at St. Ignatius Martyr as our 8th Grade Homeroom Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year!

The last two years, as the 7th grade homeroom teacher, Ms. Mackin quickly became such an important part of our school community. From guiding students in English Language Arts each morning, serving as a National Junior Honor Society advisor, leading our school spelling bee, supporting After School Care, and helping lead PSIA, she has poured so much heart, time, and dedication into our Bobcat family.

We are so proud of this incredible accomplishment and the dedication it reflects to Catholic education and academic excellence.

While this year’s 8th graders are sad they won’t get to have her again as they head off to high school, we know next year’s class is in for something special. The future is bright for our Class of 2027 with Ms. Mackin leading the way.

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Mackin and giving her a BIG Bobcat welcome to 8th grade! 💚🐾

📚✨ Meet Mr. Vogt! ✨📚

We are excited to welcome Mr. Vogt to the St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic School family for the 2026–2027 school year! Mr. Vogt will be joining our middle school team as our Math Teacher, 7th Grade Religion Teacher, and 7th Grade Homeroom Teacher.

With a passion for helping students grow both academically and spiritually, Mr. Vogt is eager to guide our Bobcats through a year of learning, discovery, and faith-filled formation.

Here’s a message from Mr. Vogt:
Hi! My name is Greg Vogt and I will be joining St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic School this Fall to teach middle school math and 7th grade religion. I graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2024 where I studied Applied Mathematics and Theology. Originally from Connecticut, I have spent the last two years living and working in Chicago, IL. I’m very excited to have the opportunity to move to Austin and to teach at a Holy Cross school while pursuing my Masters of Education from the University of Notre Dame. In the coming weeks, I will begin preparing for my classes and future students, and I will be thinking and praying for the St. Ignatius Martyr community throughout the summer. I can’t wait to meet y’all and to help form the next generation of Catholic leaders. Go Bobcats!
