🌟 When “What do you want to be when you grow up?” becomes an Atelier experience…
Our Kinder Bridge children have been exploring community, the people who help within it, and the many different jobs they see in the world around them. But instead of stopping with a conversation or worksheet, Ms. Ruchi took their thinking into our Atelier — our dedicated art and makers’ studio.
The invitation was simple: Create something that represents what YOU want to be when you grow up.
And just look at what their imaginations produced! ❤️ A doctor created a stethoscope, a future dentist designed a smiling mouth with teeth, a fisherman constructed a fishing net, while others brought their ideas of becoming a firefighter and monster truck driver to life.
What we love most isn't just what they made—it's everything happening while they made it. Children had to plan, choose materials, problem-solve, construct, revise, and figure out how to turn an idea in their mind into something they could actually hold.
This is the power of the Reggio Emilia approach. We don't always tell children what the finished product should look like. We give them the materials, the space, and the trust to show us what THEY are thinking.
And sometimes, their ideas are far more incredible than anything we could have planned for them. 💙
