✨ Honoring the Pioneers ✨
Capoeira arrived in the United States through the vision, courage, and persistence of a few pioneers who carried the art beyond Brazil. In the 1970s Mestres like Acordeon, Jelon, João Grande and others planted the first seeds of capoeira on U.S. soil.
They faced challenges—language, culture, and distance from home—but never stopped sharing the rhythm of the berimbau, the strength of the ginga, and the wisdom of our tradition.
Today, countless rodas, academies, and communities across the country stand as living proof of their dedication. 🙏
Every time we train, we honor not only our ancestors in Brazil, but also those who paved the way here in the 🇺🇸
Muito axé and respect ✊🏽
