Camp Texas is a fun three-day retreat that introduces incoming UT students to life on the Forty Acres.
Back in 1992, then-UT students Sean Petries, BS ’93, and Allison Weinstock, BA ’93, were inspired by A&M’s Fish Camp to create the ultimate welcome for UT freshmen. They wanted to build a program that was part informational, part social, and part leadership training. Since that first group of 50 student campers, the Texas Exes has grown Camp Texas beyond its founders’ wildest dreams to a capacity
