Camp Texas

Camp Texas is a fun three-day retreat that introduces incoming UT students to life on the Forty Acres.

Back in 1992, then-UT students Sean Petries, BS ’93, and Allison Weinstock, BA ’93, were inspired by A&M’s Fish Camp to create the ultimate welcome for UT freshmen. They wanted to build a program that was part informational, part social, and part leadership training. Since that first group of 50 student campers, the Texas Exes has grown Camp Texas beyond its founders’ wildest dreams to a capacity

of more than 1,000 Longhorns over the course of six sessions. Today, retreat is one of the Association’s most popular programs for students and a key component in the effort to ensure that UT students enjoy their time on campus and go on to become lifelong and caring alumni.

Camp Texas kicks off in a week, and we want to make sure you don't leave anything behind! Essentials include: photo ID, pillow, toiletries, plenty of clothes, twin-sized sleeping bag or sheets, swimsuit, sunscreen, and towels.
