Today, Labor Day honors the contributions and achievements of workers and recognizes the importance of work in building our communities and country.

Labor Day reminds us to be grateful for the people whose work makes our families, schools, communities and country possible - and to make sure that every worker is treated with dignity, justice and respect.

A question for us all to reflect on is how does Catholic Social Teaching challenge us to think differently about the value and dignity of work?

Introducing Our Dynamic Duo at eCatholic!💼🖥️

Meet our Saints interns at eCatholic, Sophie and Ximena! 😇

Now in its second year as a Corporate Internship Program partner, eCatholic provides innovative communications and engagement solutions for Catholic churches, schools, ministries, and dioceses nationwide.

As eCatholic interns, Sophie and Ximena help design and build websites for Catholic organizations, gaining valuable experience in web design, technology, and communications.

“I like that I can make an impact by helping them navigate their own parish or school website,” Sophie shares. “I like that it gives me creative freedom.”

We love seeing our Saints put their creativity and talent to work while making a meaningful impact in the Catholic community! 🙌

Proudly Introducing Our Internship Team at Athena Manufacturing! ⚙️💼

Meet our Saints interns at Athena Manufacturing (L-R): Elijah, Colin, Alex, Jacob, Omar, Cayden, Carlos, and Aiden.

As one of our newest Corporate Internship Program partners, Athena Manufacturing provides complete metalworking solutions for industries including aerospace, oilfield, medical, semiconductor, and motorsports. Even more exciting, our Saints are gaining hands-on experience and developing valuable skills that will prepare them for their future careers.

Aiden, who works in Engineering, shares, “I work with a software called SolidWorks to design 3D models of certain mechanical parts.”

Carlos, who is gaining experience in both IT and coding, says, “I help organize data for IT, so they can create an interface that communicates and translates data between two different software. I also am learning how to code.”

Opportunities like these give our students a chance to explore careers, develop real-world skills, and gain confidence in a professional environment.

Congratulations, Saints, and welcome aboard, Athena Manufacturing! We’re excited to see where this partnership takes our students! 😇

Save the Earth Club Returns to SJD! 🦸‍♂️🌎

Our Saints are back in action, making a difference in our community one trash bag at a time!

Each week, members of the Save the Earth Club help keep the streets of the Bouldin Creek and Galindo neighborhoods clean by collecting litter that can make its way into storm drains and, ultimately, our local creeks.

This hands-on service is an extension of what our Holy Cross leaders learned and experienced during their summer experience. Now, our young environmentalists are excited to put that knowledge into action!

Our Saints love to serve, and we love our planet! 🌎💚
