The Longhorn Stream Team (LST) is a group of University of Texas community members whose purpose is to train and teach citizen scientists to paddle Texas rivers, collect water quality data, and promote conservation to ensure the longevity of Texas waterways. Each fall and spring, Longhorn Stream Team recruits learn how to collect samples in the field and record water quality data that supports con

servation efforts and academic research supported by the Texas Commission for Environmental Quality and the U.S. Each semester, the team paddles four Texas rivers, collecting data and contributing it to the data set maintained by the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment for the last 23 years. LST is a small group of UT Austin students and staff who paddle down various rivers in Texas, collecting water quality data to build a rich and complete river health history! Join us as we assist in state-wide efforts to understand and preserve our waterways.
