🎭 Full disclosure—behind every moment onstage is a team making the magic happen.

From running the sound board and lighting cues, managing costumes, props, hair and makeup, and everything in between, our tech crew is the backbone of this show. You may not always see them, but you feel their work in every scene.

🎭 𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 continues with another leader behind the scenes…our Stage Manager: 𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗞𝗟𝗘𝗕𝗘𝗥!

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵?
For me it is keeping track of everything that needs to get done before a show starts. It is easy to forget a few things in the list of pre-show tasks (lift call, pre-setting set pieces, etc.), but they are all super important and the show cannot start until everything is done!

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵?
Technicians do a lot of active problem solving during shows, especially to ensure the safety of others. I wish more people knew about the effort it takes to keep things running smoothly.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲?
I really love being able to see my friends perform and getting to support them. I am a theater kid at heart, so you know I am dancing in the light booth to The Addams Family songs!

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄?
I love how spooky the vibe of the show is. Seeing everyone in white face paint and black eyeshadow is so fun, and I love that the Addams Family characters are all unique and out-there.

🎭 it’s time for 𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 to head backstage! We’re excited to feature 𝗞𝗔𝗬𝗟𝗘𝗘 𝗝𝗢𝗛𝗡𝗦𝗢𝗡, Assistant Director:

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵?
In my experience, time management has always been a struggle when taking acting notes and putting mics on actors.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵?
I wish people knew about how coordinated it has to be backstage to ensure the show goes smoothly.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲?
I enjoy learning about directing outside of a class setting and the people I get to meet and work with throughout the production.

This is my third year.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗔𝗦 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹?
All the girls dancing the guys’ choreography to “Luck Be a Lady” backstage during Guys and Dolls.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗹?
During Chicago, I ran on to interrupt the jury and faceplanted center stage in front of the whole cast.

How sweet the story is. Everyone always thinks of the darker aspect of The Addams Family, but they really love each other — and the musical shows that really well.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗔𝗦 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝘀?
The environment here is so collaborative and uplifting. No one is competing, so it forms a really wonderful community.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿?
As a puritan, my ancestor thinks she’s better than everyone else, and I love bringing out that side when reacting to moments on stage.

✨ Introducing 𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗥𝗔 𝗣𝗜𝗭𝗭𝗢𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗢:

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗔𝗦 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿?
I’ve been doing theatre at SAS since I came to the school in 9th grade, so for four years.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗔𝗦 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹?
My favorite memory was in junior year when we did Mamma Mia. Performing “Dancing Queen” with Donna and Tanya for an audience, then having the rest of the female cast all come together in an incredible dance number. It was the first time I was a principal role, so getting to play Rosie during that scene was magical.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗹?
Freshman year, we were doing a Guys and Dolls dress rehearsal. I was backstage watching the show when I looked over to where there were benches set up in preparation for “Sit Down You’re Rocking the Boat.” On the benches, you just see five guys all dressed in nice suits, laying next to each other, spooning.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄?
If you haven’t seen a St. Andrews musical before, you’ll be surprised at how good a high school musical can be.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗔𝗦 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝘀?
The pride I have in being in the musical. Not only do we have an incredible crew that puts together amazing sets, music, lighting, and sound, but the cast itself. It’s so rare to have so many talented people in one school, and seeing them all come together to put on phenomenal shows is amazing. I’m so happy I got to be a part of it.

The freedom I have with my character. She’s a big comic relief character and is just there for a good laugh, so I have a lot more freedom with my character choices. I love the voice I get to do.
