In an age where things come and go at a split-second pace, especially in our rapidly-evolving city of Austin, Kirby Hall is proud to celebrate since our founding.

to 1976 when the school opened with just a handful of students, including these here in .

While much has changed since then, some things have remained the same, such as that we still emphasize treating each other with Kindness, Humility, and Respect ... and that a strong sense of and finding your place to belong can be everything.

Say 'hello '👋 to our newest additions to the Kirby community...baby goats, Frankie, Frida, and Fiona. Kirby students named them and have been slowly learning how to feed and care for them as they grow acclimated to their new space with us. They join our Kirby chickens, a variety of native plants (like peach and fig trees), and small woodland creatures that have already made a cozy home in our school garden/Outdoor Classroom.

Cup-stacking is more challenging than meets the eye. It combines skills of engineering, teamwork, and problem-solving. Last week, third graders collaborated in class to create sturdy towers while working through the inevitable and countless collapses along the way. With planning and a little patience with each other, they persevered.

Middle Schoolers heard about our Ambassador Program today so that they can serve as guides and friendly faces for potential students visiting Kirby Hall this semester. at Kirby Hall is all about and having a safe and nurturing space to develop confidence and independence, with one foot still steeped in childhood, and one pointed towards young adulthood.

It's just a few days into the school year, and we are in LOVE ♥️ with our more than 30 new families, ALL of our new faculty members 😊, sweet baby goats 🐐 who just joined our outdoor classroom 🌱, hanging out on the porch with friends, sharing 📝 what we're excited about with each other, of course 👐 in every way, and so much more! Bring it on Week 2, WE ARE READY‼️

✅ Thursday is a half-day for PreK4-Kindergarten (pick-up at Noon)

Thanks to our fantastic families, the KHS PTO, and many generous contributions from our Spring Fling for bringing this bus home.
